| Paul Dengate is the owner of Dingbat Technology, the company he formed many years ago to provide IT solutions for small business. Paul's background is in radio, studying for a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) through Charles Sturt University in Bathurst. While studying, he also worked for the local community radio station 2MCE-FM and commercial station 2BS. Having completed his studies, Paul worked as an announcer at ONE-FM 96.1 in Western Sydney for one and a half years. Paul's ventures into technology started to develop during his time working in radio, then in 1997 he took a slight change in career direction, becoming the Operations & Technology Manager for Sky Radio, the satellite syndication arm of 2UE. This position enabled Paul to hone his technology and IT skills, supporting an NT4 network running a mission critical SQL Server switching database for Sky Radio's satellite audio distribution service. As an integral part of Sky Radio's senior management team, Paul was responsible for supervising a team of network operators, as well as managing projects, installations and the overall IT and broadcast technology. After the completion of the networking of 2UE's Sydney 2000 Olympics coverage to more than 70 affiliate stations, Paul decided it was time for a change, and formed Dingbat Technology. This became a full-time endeavour in 2001, branching out into other areas, including IT for small business and television network operations. During his career, Paul has gained many IT certifications, including: - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on NT4
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on 2000
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator on SQL 2000
He is now studying for a Master of IT Management through Charles Sturt University and IT Masters - a joint university/industry program that will also gain Paul a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer for .NET web and application development. |
